Hello all!
Firstly, Happy New Year-and another new year of birdwatching for me, after reaching 146 species last year, with highlights including Ring Ouzel, Sandwich Tern, Cetti's Warbler, Whooper Swan, Crane and Barn Owl. I'm already on 26 for this year!
Secondly, sorry for the wait-not sure what happened!

On 28th December, I visited Slimbridge once more, and saw a grand total of 73 species, including Greater Scaup and Egyptian Geese. Also, there was a Ruddy Shelduck, and a Tufted Duck X Ferruginous duck hybrid.

Finally, for Christmas, I was given a motion sensitive trail camera, up to 60 ft. Until a few days ago, I had had nothing (except cats). But now, I had a Fox! Here is a video of said fox, from just a few metres away!

Although Foxes are common, it's still exciting, and technology I only used to see on Springwatch, is now in my garden, and suddenly the nocturnal world seems much more close!

More soon,
George :-)
